The Legend
Maharaja Ajit Singh of Marwar played a key role in restoring Rathore independence from the Mughal Empire. After Aurangzeb’s death, Ajit Singh led successful campaigns to regain Jodhpur and establish Rajput autonomy. He also participated in alliances with other Rajput rulers such as Sawai Jai Singh II and the rulers of Mewar.
